      Hey guys!
You helped me a lot setting up my node on a linux server. I’m very unexperienced with the command line stuff but managed it with your help. Thanks for that!
Now I want to update my node to the latest version and I’m stuck again. Is there a tutorial out there on how to update a node?

      Thanks!

I think we need the help of @cryptosolar! πŸ™‚
He wrote that beautiful procedure in here!

@cryptosolar not not around, so I’ll give it a shot! πŸ™‚
      I would do the following:
1 – stop the running ardor client
2 – move your ardor folder to another location: “mv ardor ardor_old”
(the next 3 steps I’m getting from https://ardor.rocks/groups/how-to/forum/topic/how-to-install-ardor-on-linux-ubuntu/)
      3 – git clone https://bitbucket.org/Jelurida/ardor.git
      4 – cd ardor
      5 – ./compile.sh
Copy your configuration file and database from the older version folder:
      6 – cp ardor_old/nxt.proprties ardor
      7 – cp -r ardor_old/nxt_db ardor

Then start the client with: ./run.sh

Let me know if this works for you!

I think you can use the same procedure I posted above:

        I would do the following:
1 – stop the running ardor client
2 – move your ardor folder to another location: β€œmv ardor ardor_old”
(the next 3 steps I’m getting from https://ardor.rocks/groups/how-to/forum/topic/how-to-install-ardor-on-linux-ubuntu/)
        3 – git clone https://bitbucket.org/Jelurida/ardor.git
        4 – cd ardor
        5 – ./compile.sh
Copy your configuration file and database from the older version folder:
        6 – cp ardor_old/nxt.proprties ardor
        7 – cp -r ardor_old/nxt_db ardor

Then start the client with: ./run.sh

Let me know if this works for you!

Basically you move the old ardor installation folder to a different one, in this case “ardor_old”, then you install the new version in the “ardor” folder and you move the reusable stuff from the old to the new folder. In this case the database folder “nxt_db” and the configuration file “nxt.properties”

        Hope this helps! πŸ™‚
